WHY PROMOTE ATLANTA AS A GLOBAL PEACE CAPITAL?

The Health & Future of our Global Family, "ONE Tribe" is at risk. Together, ALL of us, need to unite and support every initiative that propels the dynamic SHIFT 4 PEACE that we all need.

This favorite quote by Dr. King has guided our efforts, and focus, and presence since our birth. We recommend adopting it.

Dr. King proclaimed:

"In a real sense all life is inter-related. All of us are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects ONE directly affects ALL indirectly. I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be, and you can never be what you ought to be until I am what I ought to be. This is the inter-related structure of reality."

The Global Peace Legacy in ATLANTA: City of Peace has many facets -- like a beautifully polished diamond.

 
It is the birth-city of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the city where he authored: "I HAVE A DREAM!" speech. It is also home to international organizations that nurture the health of our Global Family, such as the great CARE International-USA, The Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and refugee support - The International Rescue Committee (IRC). Dr. King also popularized development of this GREAT term:

"The Beloved Community"

Important peace monuments include: Atlanta from the Ashes, BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, The International Peace Fountain, Mahatma Gandhi Statue,  Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel, Millennium Gate Museum, Seminole Peace Mural, The World Peace Rose Garden and World Wall For Peace.

Atlanta is host & home to many peace leaders. 
In the near future (perhaps in 2022) Atlanta will be hosting the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates. Several of Atlanta's residents have been awarded or nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize: Dr. King & President Carter, plus official part-time residents: His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Bishop Desmond Tutu, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, plus Nobel Peace Prize Nominees: Ted Turner, Dr. John Endicott, Senator Sam Nunn, and (as of February 2021) Stacey Abrams Esq (a new era Gandhi Esq).

Atlanta has the world's busiest airport. 
Imagine what could happen when some 100 million air travelers going through the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport each year become peace ambassadors? ACP is developing that goal to promote...

Tourism: The World's Biggest Peace Industry

Atlanta hosted the Centennial Olympic Games. 
Atlanta hosted the 100th anniversary of the Olympic Games because of Dr. King's global peace legacy. The lighting of the Olympic Torch represents peace commitment between nations and 2016 was the 20th Anniversary of the historic 1996-Centennial Games.

Atlanta is the birth city of "The Declaration of Peace Millennium"
Our dream is to celebrate the interconnectedness of our Global Family, 'ONE Tribe', over the next 1000 years. Atlanta can serve as a global nexus & center of courage, peace, love, justice, inspiration, and service. See one example of an Atlanta: City of Peace community garden-project below.
